This show was provided by the legendary Revelogic, who got it from the taper as a housewarming gift. This show is previously uncirculated, and seems to have been forgotten entirely until now. The performance and recording are both raw and rockin'. The performance is really well captured, but, based on the nature of the recording, it is, to say the least, crusty. The most notable problem is an occassional minor fluctuation in tape speed/pitch. The "perspective" tends to shift a bit too. The track transitions were occassionally a little rough: it's that way on the master. Turn it up loud! No self-respecting fan is going to want to miss this. It is a great discovery and a crucial missing link in the live history of GbV. A couple songs here were almost entirely unknown in the GbV live canon until now: -a way-out-of-left-field rendition of Ultravox's "Just for a Moment"... (gbv.com webmaster/head Rockathon guy RichT: "Bob recalls that they used to do that song sometimes...He said that he loved that song and he can't wait to hear this tape!") -the debut live recording of Blatant Doom Trip!!! Enjoy! notes from Rev: -When the Geebs play "Pimple Zoo", Bob references the fact that it's the 2nd time they played the song - "We're gonna do the first song we did one more time" - I asked the taper if he had any idea if he missed that first song played that night (or any other songs) and he had no clue. Twelve f'in years ago... -there appears to be a small gap at the intro to "Cruise" -Bob introduces "Kicker of Elves" and "14 Cheerleader Coldfront", but it seems like they detour into playing other songs instead, rather than those songs being performed and missing from the master tape.
