If you saw my upload the other day of the 'Mats at the CalArts Halloween Party, well this was the following night.
Their set at the party was very late, roughly finishing at 3 or 4 am and this then was less than 24 hrs later. Using the same gear, this recording has the same slightly distorted sound. In a perverse way it compliments(sort of) the high volume
distorted Marshall amp sound of the band. Anyway, Al's Bar was in the arty warehouse district in downtown LA. I don't really
remember the place very well now, I think it was the only time I saw a show there. As you'll hear the tape starts and then cuts, I was having some kind of problem, I don't remember what. I can't say for sure how much is missing but I'm going to say that I think it's very little, maybe even just the end of the song that is cut. Still, once again, despite the flaws, I think
'Mats fans want to be able to hear this so here it is. I haven't listened to this in many years, I generally don't enjoy listening to my"problem" tapes, the flaws bug me and that ruins it for me but often other folks really don't mind them.
